Cody is wonderful. He took the time to explain everything to me. He didn’t rush me or make me feel silly for asking questions. Phil and Brandon were with Cody, and they were wonderful as well. Very easy to talk to. I won’t hesitate to call HL Bowman for further needs. Ps…I told the guys they need new pics for their appointment notifications. I like that you send the pics of the people that are coming to the house. That’s an excellent security measure. But their pics don’t do them justice ☺️

Your work was good but to get a 5 star out of me I would need to spackle damaged areas and I think for the job it could be less expensive. I feel it was a bit much for the work. I want to start by saying that I was always happy with the quality of work done by the technicians at Winters Home Services/H.L. Bowman. However, I noticed a change since H.L. Bowman purchased Winters Home Service. Recently I had an estimate done to replace a leaky toilet. Because of financial issues, I scheduled the appointment almost 3 months after the date of the estimate. I was notified on the day of service that the estimate was no longer valid. The work would now cost nearly $600 more than the estimate. How could the cost of this work increase so much in such a little time? I called the office only to get nowhere with the AI receptionist. So frustrating. When I finally got to speak to a person, they told me a manager would call me right back. I never got that call. Since the leak was only getting worse, I had the work done and paid the inflated price. I will never call H.L. Bowman for any work again.

Chris arrived early, dug right into checking the unit. Everything was recorded and then he began taking out the air filters. Once the filters were vacuumed he reinstalled them and check the compressor stats, all was well good to go.

This was to correct a serious problem in the original installation, which did not pass inspection. I was terribly disappointed. But, after the inspection, the serious problem was discovered and corrected and the system passed inspection

I had a 70 year old furnace that was so big for an 800 sq,ft,house. They worked nonstop for 6hrs getting that monster out!!! And the work they did to install the new furnace, tying it into the existing duct work was extraordinary!! The skill involved was amazing!! And had a great time chatting with them. We were happy customers of HL Bowman for years. After discovering the company has chosen to begin using Avoca AI to replace the human labor of their front desk employees, we will be taking our business elsewhere permanently.There is no way to bypass the AI agent to speak to a human. At no time is it disclosed or obvious you are talking to a robot.

EDIT: Look at YELP reviews before using HL Bowman please. They must be monitoring / deleting low star google reviews.Not a good experience... I was willing to pay the exaggerated price point of HL Bowman thinking I would get quick, trustworthy service. The company did not even tell the technicians what they were supposed to be working on / looking at when arriving. I had to explain to multiple technicians and bring up the quote myself. The technicians walked through my carpeted living room (about 1,000 times - they were in the car more than in my house), dragging dirt and made absolutely no attempt to clean up the area. I spent 2+ hours cleaning up the mess, and no true apology was offered. HL Boman kept repeating "This is not typical", but why would I believe that? What was supposed to be a 1 day job turned into 3 due to poor communication within their own company. Technician left at the end of day 2 leaving a voice mail saying that there was still a drip. 3rd day a technician came asking how much more I was willing to spend and offered no solution.Nothing about this process was easy or fast. I encourage you to find a different business to work with.

All the guys from HL Bowman were great! Jack, the young man who installed our new HVAC system, is very knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and cleaned up the area after the install. Christian was awesome! Took the old air handler apart into pieces in order to get it down from our attic. He definitely got a workout while he was there up and down the stairs but remained productive and professional even right to the end when he had to run and get a part so that the UV light would work properly. Reaching out to other customers here hoping for some insight perhaps. We have a maintenance plan with H.L. Bowman and yet it seems shortly after one of the scheduled maintenance visits we have an issue with one of our HVAC systems, both heating and cooling. New and older systems, doesn't matter.Once, or even twice I could chalk it up to coincidence. This is the third time, starting to become a pattern at this point. This doesn't even take into account the multitude of times I had service techs at the house due to no one properly understanding the usage of our brand new, installed by Bowman, Navien combi-boiler and the piping system in our home.Has anyone else experienced this type of "failure" or is it just a string of bad luck on our behalf?

We had a sudden leak (turned out to be a blown water pipe behind the wall of one of our bathroom sinks) and HL Bowman sent Ryan M. out to assess the situation. He found the issue quickly and efficiently and gave us excellent and practical suggestions on how to rectify the situation. Ryan worked very hard to get everything done same day (and he did!) and he was professional and friendly the whole time.

Horrible. After they have your money, they do the job as cheep and fast as they can. They don't care if its crooked, or sealed properly. Office personnel is rude and management hides behind there secretary's. Run away. Look at the leavel. They already sent someone to fix this.

Today I had an a/c-heater unit installed. Cole introduced himself. Shook my hand. He was extremely polite. He explained exactly what was happening in detail and where they were in the process. Tried to strong-arm me into having my wife present just so they could inspect our furnace for replacement. That is a hard no.I scheduled the visit. I am the homeowner. I can walk the equipment, hear the options, and decide what happens next. Requiring my wife to be there before they will even look at the unit is a sales tactic, not a service standard. Anyone who does that is a red flag.I cancelled. If a company needs both spouses in the room to quote a furnace, they are not there to inspect equipment. They are there to close a sale.Look elsewhere.

My AC stopped working and had a technician come out. I was told a fan and motor needed to be replaced. The estimate was $2,800. Had another company out and they said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the motor but the fan was broken. $600. Will never call them again.

Tom was determined to clear a kitchen sink clog. He worked on it for a few hours on day one and did not have any success, came back the next day with other equipment and cleared it. Michael Lewis did an excellent job installing our new HVAC system and removing the old unit. He was upfront and transparent about his arrival time, which we really appreciated. Throughout the job he was diligent and clearly took pride in his work — down to the small touches, like vacuuming up after himself before he left. Very efficient arrangment with HL Bowman. Called Wednesday morning, got a call back in just a few hours. Appraisal agent arranged to evaluate my furnace needs the next day. After his appraisal, we came to an agreement as to what I wanted and what it would cost. His installers, Jhett and Dave would be at my home THE NEXT DAY, arriving @ 7:30am. Sure enough, 7:30 rolls around and a HL Bowman delivery truck is out front unloading my new furnace, placing it on the sidewalk in front of my house. Jhett and Dave roll up about 5 minutes later. They got right to work tearing out my old furnace and carrying my new one down the small steps to my cellar. Finished up about 7 hours later and cleaned up the area. After going over the furnace and thermostat operations, they were gone. Jhett and Dave were both very professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend them both as top tier installers in HVAC. I will also recommend HL Bowman Plumbing - Heating & AC to anyone who asks.

The Central AC in the top floor apartment of our two family property failed the 2nd week of August. I looked for a local contractor and selected one that we had built their work trucks. Winters-HL Bowman. By the next day I had a quote to replace the system and the following day, the entire system was installed and up and running!!! Absolutely amazing service and what an unexpected turnaround. Our tenant had their central air disrupted for 2 days in the middle of one of our hottest most humid summers in a while here in MA.They were competent and provide exceptional service. Great job!I would strongly recommend them.

Mike arrived promptly to install my new HVAC system. Mike introduced himself & reviewed the steps involved in the installation. He told me he & Ryan would likely complete their work by the afternoon. He did a quick review of the location of the thermostat, electrical panel, HVAC & compressor & asked whether they could access a bathroom if needed. He told me he would be working outside on the compressor & Ryan would be inside. They carried out their responsibilities without distraction or any apparent difficulty & advised the installation was complete in the early afternoon. Ryan reviewed operation of the thermostat with me & gave me the written instructions. These two gentlemen are clearly exemplary representatives of Bowman’s commitment to quality customer service. Their task was a significant one yet there was no disruption to my plans while they took care of their work.

barely out of warranty - 60 days. do not let this place fool you. the repairman are salesman first. salesman not there 2 minutes, "oh let me call and see what i can do" - well this is a 2 1/2 - 3 hr job and this would normally cost $1000 but i can do it for the low cost of $315 plus the $70 to tell you it will cost $315. very scummy . 45 mins of work (the time he was here) and it is the same price bc you have to agree to be overcharged before they come back. was the work good? seems ok. was i overcharged? - $7 a minute seems excessive. i would and will look elsewhere next time.

I'd like to thank all of the folks who came through my house over the last few days, Zack Wagner - who initially was called for an adjacent repair but showed me the camera feed of the sewer line. Both teams who completed the interior sewer pipe lining, and the outside bursting, Tom Scott who came to unclog a separate but adjacent line after the main work was complete.They all took what was an unpleasant discovery (my abysmal sewer line) and made it as reasonable and pleasant as it could be, despite the challenges they ran into while getting things done, they worked to get the job complete in just a few days.

I left a message to call when they were to arrive i explained,where to park and to go to the basement area. No call parks in the wrong spot goes upstairs bothers my tenant they unknowingly let them in and show them the stairs. Hear I am with no clothes and siting on the toilet door,wide open. Completely embarrassed very upsettingI gathered my self while explaining and asking why they didn't call and came in my house without me being prepared at all and all they did was,make senseless excuses and I then asked to leave and explained why. He then scolded me and told me that I am not a customer of theirs and threatened me with that they would never work with me at all. Good riddance. Would consider that to be rude and unprofessional parked on my property leaving tire marks where he drove in when wet and muddy. He said I thought it was a driveway when I told them to park on the road

We had an excellent experience with Eric Cornier and his team at HL Bowman / Winters Home Services.Our air-conditioning system was only six years old, but the original installer had inexplicably left the old unit suspended above the stairs. When we contacted Aspinwall Baystate, who carried out the original installation, they insisted it had been correctly fitted inside a closet—which it very clearly had not been!Eric immediately understood the problem and handled everything professionally. He and his team safely removed both systems and will be installing our new system next week. We finally found the issue and it's with the tile and grout, the water has been going through the floor. I scheduled one day in advance and they showed up on time and completed the work on my leaking toilet in 30 minutes. It cost $400. But, they said they fixed the leak. 2 weeks later it was leaking again. They came out and said they fixed the problem that was $2,200 but they said they were going to give me a $700 discount but it never arrived back in my bank account. One week later the leak was worse than ever, I just had to call another plumber. $2600, 4 plumbers, and the leak has only gotten worse.

I feel that if they were aware of the job, the proper cement patch should have been present. I declined the silicon on the 2" hole in the stone.I mentioned that the unit was crooked. I said something well before they were finished. A torpedo level did not suffice. If the unit didn't sit under a soffit, im sure it would sink. Hardly any stone was used under the pad. Lots of mulch though.Lastly, the gentmen should know it's ok to look, but they shouldn't touch things on someone's desk. In this day in age someone is always watching.The unit was locked up for a few hours the night of installation. Installer said he would not do wifi. Called company and there directions locked unit up. I eventually got it running. Next day different teck came to help with wifi. No one has asked yet, if the new unit has made an improvement.3 weeks later, still no call from management

Super Fast and Efficient replacement of my ancient HVAC system today, and the new setup looks amazing and was cooling the house in the first hour. Ian, Mike, and Brian worked as a team and knocked this out. I still can't believe we were able to have it lined up the day after assessing the old one, it's awesome HL Bowman had the units at the ready, to have this done before the heat wave this week! Post installation: there was a filter and a tray missing so I have been trying to call the office for a return appointment, and I also need equipment serial numbers for warranty registration. The calls are ONLY handled by AI, and I could not get any live person to get back to me on what I need. Very very frustrating. Update 8/22/26: Colin Dunn is fantastic. Please send him to our house for all HVAC maintenance and repairs. Sadly, the estimator who first investigated our leaking water heater misdiagnosed the problem and just wanted to sell us products that we did not need, like a whole house pressure reduction valve. We initially agreed to the work. When Colin came to do the work he quickly determined that we needed to replace an internal check valve. He coordinated with another member of the team who came out with the part and made the repair that same afternoon. I like Colin, he is smart and he is honest.

Jack Murog and Jacob Null replaced our 32 year old compressor and coil with a great new system. They took the time to braze shut a waterline that fed an old humidifier. Not only did they remove the old humidifier and repair the duct, but the braze job ensures no future leaks. They also did a great job affixing the coolant lines to the exterior. Very professional. Great work. We are very satisfied with the entire process including the second truck that hauled the old stuff away. Give those two a raise. It’s hard to find and keep good help. I also appreciated how quickly Nate was able to show up and attempt a repair the day the old system quit. Jack and Jacob also kept us informed of our different options throughout the entire install process and even let me keep the garden hose to basement drain setup. Thank you. I will highly recommend HL Bowman. Of course the complimentary furnace clean and electric or plumbing inspection doesn’t hurt either.Thank you all again for a great experience during a lousy time.

Get quotes from different companies before you commit. I got a water heater from them after comparing the cost with 3 other companies. After that experience I decided to have them check my hvac unit. The person that came said they would need to shut my system down and turn my gas off (in the middle of winter) because it was not safe. He said he saw cracks and that coukd lead to carbon monoxide leaking. I had recently had a baby so of course that freaked me out and I had them give me a quote for a new system.The finance guy ( Jared) was at my house in about 30 mins with the paperwork drawn up.I regret not getting additional quotes because the minute I signed those papers, the guy stopped taking my calls when I had questions about the contract and the work. He had told me to call him if I had any questions and I have never heard from him again. I had called other companies to see if I had overpaid and they said I sure did and HL Bowman is known to use scare tactics like this. I has expressed my displeasure regarding the lack of communication and a manager did get back to me and apologized after I started to inquire about the buy back guarantee portion of the contract. There were some issues with the installation and that was fixed. The unit is ok but I am just disappointed in the tactics used to get a sale, I've had 2 people close to me that needed a new hvac system and I made sure to tell them to call around and not just jump to this company.

Mike checked to make sure that my furnace was responding and working as it should before he left. He listened to my concerns about an unrelated electrical problem. My sewage pipe kept getting clogged and it was recommended that the pipe be replaced. I got multiple quotes from different companies but the guys at Drain Magic (HL Bowman) were not only the best price but the most helpful and knowledgeable. The entire process was over in a blink and they were able to solve all my problems without jackhammering up my home foundation or destroying my front lawn. I’ve been incredibly impressed with HL Bowman. Long story short, our original well pump installation wasn’t quite spec’d correctly, but I’ve always believed you really find out what a company is made of when something doesn’t go as planned.When the original pump eventually failed, HL Bowman stood behind their work and made it right. There was no runaround, no excuses, and no hassle. They looked at the situation, figured out exactly what needed to be done to correct it properly, and made it a priority to get the work completed as soon as possible. Given that we were dealing with a failed well pump, that meant a lot to us.A huge thank you to Aaron, Mike, and Shane. They handled the hard work of excavating the old system and installing the new one, and they worked incredibly hard throughout the process. They took what was a pretty stressful situation for us and completely turned it around.What I appreciated just as much was how they wrapped everything up at the end. 5 Star rating. Originally called for a service call on a Sunday knowing we might need to install a new a/c and heating system. Technician confirmed that the equipment was 19 years old and needed replaced. Estimator/Comfort Advisor came out on a Sunday within 2 hours to provide us with a quote. We accepted on Sunday. Installation of new units occurred on Tuesday. They would have installed on Monday however we were not avaliable. The installation team replaced everything in just under 5 hours. HL Bowman is very efficient. Prices are definitely fair and their customer service was "Second to None". We will use the team at HL Bowman again. I highly recommend them for their service. Thank you.

I called them to get a quote for removing and replacing my tankless water heater. Gave the exact model and detail that it was simply taking off the old unit and putting on the new unit which was the exact same model. Was told they could not provide a quote without sending a technician out to review the job first which would cost $70. The technician arrived and was surprised to find out it was a remove and replace of a like for like unit... After consulting with his manager provided a quote that was 3x my prior quote. If you don't have the expertise to work that model hot water heater, JUST SAY THAT ON THE PHONE instead of wasting my time and charging me $70.

My AC unit stopped working before a heat wave and most HVAC companies were charging $200+ just to stop by and assess the issue. Most companies didn’t even have availability for at least a month out but HL Bowman had availability for the following morning. I was told the visit was free and I’d just have to pay for parts and labor which was great.I had a 8am-10am window scheduled and Goran was on time and called me about 30mins before arrival. He was efficient, spoke honestly about the repair needed, didn’t try to upsell me, and was very respectful of my home. I also appreciated Goran’s patience when answering all of my questions and the helpful advice he gave about maintaining and replacing my air conditioning unit when the time comes.I would highly recommend Goran without any hesitation - he deserves a raise.

From beginning to end the service was fantastic. From Justin coming out and diagnosing the problem the same day I called to Chad explaining my replacement options the following day. Cole and Scott did the installation, they were efficient and pleasant even with the added stress of having to deal with UGI digging up my yard and moving my gas meter outside at the same time they were installing my system. Every step was explained including setting up my new thermostat. Start to finish my furnace and air condenser unit was installed within 2 days, it’s great to have air conditioning again!

During a recent heat wave my a/c went out and I was desperate for someone to come and repair it because of health issues. It seemed that every company was booked but I was given H.L. After the nightmare of dealing with customer service the past year with Bowman and ready to call it quits we used them for a ac/furnace replacement. They had financing which was a huge plus. Thankfully the actual workers from the inspection guy, estimate guy and all of the installers have changed my mind and feelings about this company. The workers and people i dealt with face to face were extremely professional and answered all questions. The installers were very respectful of our home and were a pleasure to have in our home working. They said job would be about 7-8 hours and they were out before that and cleaned up and explained how everything worked. This company should praise their installers and workers that go into peoples homes because they are the only reason we chose to stay with Bowman after our experience dealing with the customer service end of things on a previous issue we had in our home. We just had to replace our high velocity evaporator and compressor. Bowman (nee Winters) replaced these within a week and you'd not know they'd been they were so tidy. I contacted HL Bowman as a referral from Home Depot for air conditioning in a home I am moving into. I received a date for a consultation within a week. Matthew Parlotto arrived on time and discussed his thoughts of going with a Ductless Hyper-Heat system. I was so impressed with what he said about the HL Bowman Company, I agreed to his price and within two hours we had made the deal and signed off to everything. I never thought it would be this easy. Matt also planned the installation within a week and told us what to expect and that he would personally stop in that day to make sure everything is done.Josh Perez came the day that was planned to begin the project, was on time and very informative. We hired HL Bowman to reconnect our gas stove and refrigerator water line after a kitchen renovation. When I scheduled the appointment, I explained that another licensed plumber had already disconnected both appliances and installed a new gas shutoff valve. At that time, I was told only about the $70 service call fee.When the technician arrived, he spent about 15 minutes on the phone with his manager before telling us the total cost would be nearly $600 ($70 service call, $360 to reconnect the gas stove, and $170 to reconnect the refrigerator water line). At that point, we felt we had little practical choice but to proceed because we had already been without our stove and refrigerator and would have had to wait several more days to find another plumber.For comparison, the licensed plumber who disconnected both appliances and installed the new gas shutoff valve charged us $300 for that more involved work. He was unfortunately not available to reconnect it, which is why we called HL Bowman. That made the $600 charge for simply reconnecting the existing stove and refrigerator especially surprising.I want to be clear that the technician was professional, courteous, and completed the work properly. My concern is not with him, but with HL Bowman's pricing and disclosure practices.After the visit, I contacted customer service and asked them to review the invoice and consider a partial refund. Instead of addressing my concern, the only solution offered was a membership for future services, which I declined.I understand that companies can use flat-rate pricing. However, I believe customers should be told the full price before a technician is dispatched when the scope of the work has already been clearly explained. Had we known the total cost in advance, we could have made an informed decision before scheduling the appointment.Update: after I posted the review, HL Bowman called me and offered to split the bill, which I agreed to and was done. I added a star after that.

As someone who works in the automotive sales industry, I have learned to value the team that services a product as much as the product itself. Servicing can truly make or break a person's experience with a company, and HL Bowman has shown that they understand this well.I had an air conditioning system installed in my home a few weeks ago, which was done quickly and with precision. However, on the first night with the new system, I received an error code on my units. I contacted the service department the next morning and they sent out a technician right away to diagnose the issue. My technician, Jeff Negron, was determined to find the root cause of the issue and eventually even went so far as to reach out to the manufacturer on my behalf to recommend having my whole compressor warrantied. I am now sitting under the cool air of my new units, extremely satisfied.A company shows its quality not when everything goes right, but when something goes wrong. In this experience, HL Bowman has certainly shown me theirs. Malfunctioning products are inevitable, but the company went above and beyond to make it right, and that is what matters to me the most. I would not hesitate to recommend HL Bowman to anyone (especially if you are a Home Depot credit card holder).

Our AC broke in the middle of the summer in a heat wave late Wednesday evening around 9pm. Early Thursday morning a technician came out and easily diagnosed the issue but unfortunately it was a problem that required replacing our 25 year old central air with a new system. This company installed the wrong size air condensor because they did not properly evaluate our system, leaving us with no air conditioning during the hottest days early in the summer, even though we scheduled before the start of the hot season. They switched out the condenser, eventually after sending multiple techs out over the span of a couple of weeks, from a 4 ton to a 3 ton, and then refused to discount us the difference because "We already lost money on this sale." -Manuel, which was stated to my husband on two separate occasions. We will be contacting Home Depot and the better business bureau.

If I could give Eric and the crew 10 stars, I absolutely would. I had a mini-split installed in my finished but unheated/no ac attic to help balance out my 2 zone system. First, I have to say that all the steps this company takes are absolutely the way a business should be run, from providing photos of the service people before they arrive to them cleaning up so well that you would never know they were there. Eric was extremely professional and courteous. He answered all of my questions readily and took the time to investigate further some things I wanted to know. I originally called these guys over a weekend because our entire AC system died and it was in the mid 90s outside. They came out that day, diagnosed our problem immediately, emailed us pictures of the problems, and did not even charge for that trip. We purchased a new system from them and they installed it within 2 days. It works great.THEN, our water heater failed (it was old and struggling for years). Once again I called them and they came out right away and got a new system up and running.Their prices are not the lowest in town, but they're definitely worth it. With them, we know that things will get fixed properly and quickly the first time around. Every worker was professional, trustworthy, and knew what they were doing. The company even texts you beforehand with a photo and name of anyone coming out and has them call when they're on their way. We are now repeat satisfied customers and plan to continue to use HL Bowman. I rarely leave reviews lately unless a company is either really bad or really good - and this company is really, really good.

Our central air failed July 3rd. I texted for emergency assistance at 9:30 PM, received a return call 10PM. Service technician arrived Sunday July 5th to assess the issue. An appointment was made for Monday July 6th. On Wednesday July 8th, our A/C and Furnace were replaced.We were told technicians would arrive at 7:30 and it would require 8hrs. I chose to have a 24,000 BTU Mini Split installed instead of the central air being replaced. The Mini Split would provide an additional heat source in the winter and provide AC in the warm months.Marcelo Barros was part of the team of men that came out to install the Mini. Marcelo was timely, professional, and did a great job!! Marcelo was one of the unit installers. He and Kyle did a great job installing the unit, it looks great inside and outside and cleaned up everything when they were finished. We have a large multi-level 1896 house that previous owners installed central air into on first and second floors. But it never worked great. The air conditioner broke in the middle of the most recent heat wave and HL Bowman came to my rescue with fast response times, great service, knowledgeable employees and a great outcome. Goran in sales earned my trust with his friendly and respectful demeanor and patient and helpful explanations of what was wrong with my system. It was a total fail of the system—years past its stated life, deteriorated by our failure to replace the air filters. He answered all my questions, sometimes twice (and even put me on the phone with the sales manager Mike, who was great, to help answer a question about our other air conditioner in a different part of the house). Goran also pointed out several problems with the way the old system was installed that would be repaired with the new install. And they could do it the next day—July 3rd and they had 0% financing for 18 months. I was sold. I had already carefully read the online reviews ahead of time and was confident I was in good hands and I was right. Even when a difficult install at another location that had not been completed yet meant the install team who had volunteered to work on the July 3rd holiday for mine wouldn’t be available and we’d have to wait until Monday—-I got call after call from the install manager until they reached me to make sure I knew, with profuse apologies. Our install team arrived on time with three HLBowman trucks, introduced themselves and shook my hand (which repairmen don’t always do with a woman customer and I appreciate it). Cody. Alec and Alex got to work right away, explaining they would be there until about 3. When I had a question about the brand of equipment they were installing I called Goran who had given me his cell phone number the week before and got a call back right away (even though he was sick) By the end of the day we had a working air conditioner, cooling the multi-level house much better than the old system. They finished around 4:30 and Alec did a great job walking me through the new system, answering all my questions, explaining new safety features. And he also walked with me through the whole house testing all the vents to make sure each one worked. One did not and he said he’d have the company call me to send out another team to investigate and address that issue. At this point I truly trust the great work of the whole HL Bowman team and am confident that I will hear from them today to address the one vent problem and so I am writing the review now. I am glad to have selected this company and would recommend it to anyone.

I would highly recommend H.L. Bowman for any Heating/AC repairs. Our system stopped working on a Sunday and Bowman had a tech (Austin) come by the house to diagnose the problem. Upon his finding we decided to replace the 15 year old system with a new system. (The old system used discontinued refrigerant) That same day Matt stopped by the house to discuss options about replacement and financing, and by the next morning Glen Keiper and his son were on the schedule to come and replace the system. Glen and Shayne were very professional and did a phenomenal job installing the new system and thermostat. They went above and beyond the call of duty, going as far as noticing a very small propane leak coming from my tank and calling me at work to let me know. We couldn't be happier with the service we received from HL Bowman and will certainly give them every opportunity to do any work in the future.Scott.

We had two issues that Eric (Lasalle) was able to fix and complete. In attempting a DYI bathroom faucet replacement, we discovered that the old faucet had been bolted down and when attempting to turn off the water the shut off values were old and leaking. Eric was prompt in arriving during the scheduled time and was able to remove and replace the faucet. Likewise he was able to replace the old shutoff values with new ones. Eric was very courteous and performed great work in a timely fashion. My wife and I are very happy with his work and would look to HL Bowman for future plumbing needs.

They quoted me a modulating furnace but installed a 2 stage furnace. I’ve been trying to get it sorted out for almost a month but I keep getting told to “call this person” or “wait for this other person to call you back”. I was told to reach back out to the salesman, Manuel, and he refuses to respond to me.The technicians are great, the people on the phones are nice, but trying to resolve this situation is more difficult than it should be.

Had a cracked toilet in our basement. Called and got an appointment two days later for a fix. Mike was knowledgeable and provided great guidance for picking a new one that would meet our needs and at a decent price point. The specialist, Jeff Negron showed up early and I didn't have to wait home all day. Jeff was very personable and knowledgeable. When he came a couple of weeks ago to do the annual maintenance he noticed the blower assembly was dirty and needed cleaning. He gave me answers to my questions very thoroughly. Showed me how to keep the the condensate trap clean and explained the reason it's on the furnace. He wanted to make sure I know how the system works. Reminded me to keep checking the filters. A great experience all around. We needed our garbage disposal replaced, so we reached out on a Saturday using their website. Got a text from Samantha soon after to confirm our appointment for a couple days later (Monday). On Monday, Sean shows up, looks over the situation, gets his tools, and is done shortly after. The whole thing took less than 1 hour! And everything looks and works great! They even hauled away the old garbage disposal for free! I contacted Home Depot for an evaluation, and their HVAC Advisor, Amauris, provided an outstanding consultation. He thoroughly inspected both the indoor and outdoor units, transparently explaining potential issues. When a technical question fell outside his immediate scope, he prioritize accuracy over guesswork and called Brad, the HVAC Manager at HL Bowman (Home Depot's installation partner). Brad clearly explained our ductwork limitations in simple, straightforward terms without trying to upsell unnecessary work. Amauris walked us through the entire contract with complete transparency, even placing his internal calls on speakerphone. To address our specific contract questions, he looped in Nord, the Retail Compliance Manager at HL Bowman, who professionally explained our payment options, warranties, and product details. Knowing our house was at 90° with no AC, Amauris went above and beyond—staying from 4:45 PM to 7:30 PM to finalize our paperwork and successfully expediting our installation for the very next day. The installation specialists, Greg and Chase, were phenomenal. Over a two-day, 17-hour installation process, they worked tirelessly and stayed late to hit their milestones. They were incredibly respectful, highly knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions professionally. After completing the install, they rigorously tested the system, recorded the metrics, and re-verified the contract details with us.The transparency, respect, and expertise demonstrated by Amauris, Brad, Nord, Greg, and Chase were unmatched. Contacted HL Bowman for central air service when the air was no longer blowing cold. We were in a pinch as we had a family party approaching with the recent heat wave. Representative answered right away and set up an appointment. We were later offered a next day visit which we accepted.Tim W. from HL Bowman arrived the next day. Very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Tim was able to diagnose the issue with the unit and replaced the part all within 45 minutes. By the time he came back in the house, the air was already blowing ice cold.Pricing was up front and fair, service was quick and easy, and the technician walked me through what was wrong and how the repair would work. Would absolutely recommend HL Bowman to anyone looking for central air service in and around the South Shore.

Install seemed to go well. However i was told it would be a one day install. It took 2. It should have taken 3. The techs who finished on day 2 were good, however, I had to leave. They were not done and wouldnt be coming back. I couldnt be there for programming and they did not lable the breakers where thy installed the units.Again, they were good they just needed more time identifing where the old units were installed in the panel. I had a leaky pipe from the kitchen sink and then sent technician, Luke, out. He identified the problem and told me a supervisor would email a quote for the repairs later that day or the next morning. Two days later, I hadn’t heard anything so I called the offices to find out Luke was told when he was here the job was beyond HL Bowman’s area of expertise and they wouldn’t be able to help me. If you can’t call a plumber to fix a leaky pipe I’m not really sure who else to call. Luckily I found Robinson Plumbing, not only did they have prompt appointments but the technicians they sent out had the skill and ingenuity and took the time to get me back up and running that day! I haven’t had a problem since. With HL Bowman, all I got was dishonesty and lack of general knowledge about their own “skill”. Look elsewhere!

We just had an annual heating and cooling system check up by HL Bowman. The service tech (Justin) was knowledgable and professional as you would expect but he was also very polite and patient, explaining everything he was going to do and why, a service you usually can't expect these days. I wish my primary care doctor was like that! Could not be more pleased with HL Bowman.

Mike Farley came to fix a broken levered drain stopper in my bathroom sink. I also asked him to check out the toilet, because it had seemed to flush on its own just yesterday. He said that the toilet flap was worn out and that the mechanism in the tank needed to be replaced. He also replaced the toilet flush handle at my request.Mike set right to work when he arrived, assessing what the problems were. He clearly explained each of the problems and their solutions and offered me choices for the toilet flush handle.Mike was very considerate about putting on booties to keep the floors clean. He is friendly and upbeat and it was a pleasure to have him do this work.

Marquise was on time, very polite and considerate of my home. The scheduled appointment was for a clogged tub, which he handled without issue but in the process he Nd I noticed the flange was cracked allowing water to leak into the basement. After stating he didn't have the part, attempted to "sell" me on replacing my older pipes and when rejected had me sign invoice and left....leaving a leak and me still not being able to use the tub. I've since called another plumber and had the issue corrected

While the technician successfully located the root cause of my furnace issue—a dead bird blocking the 3” exhaust pipe—the pricing and repair process were predatory.Before finding the bird, the technician misdiagnosed the system and charged me $935.23 to replace my pressure switch. The technician’s own notes showed that my original switch ohmed out perfectly during testing, and the brand-new switch immediately threw the exact same error code because the blockage was still there. This proves my original switch was working perfectly and just doing its safety job.The technician then quoted me an additional $1,020.36 just to cut the PVC pipe, remove the bird, and glue it back together. I declined, the tech left with my working original switch, and I fixed the issue myself for less than $15 in parts from the hardware store. The furnace now runs perfectly.Charging nearly $1,000 for a part that wasn't broken, plus quoting over $1,000 for a 15-minute PVC repair, is unacceptable. I am happy to pay a standard diagnostic fee for finding the bird, but I am demanding a refund for the unnecessary switch. The request for any adjustment was just denied. Proceed with extreme caution.

George and Kyle and the rest of the crew were amazing. I think the only person who was stressed out was me for arriving late. When I finally got through the traffic and arrived, they were already half way finished. You could tell this wasn’t the first HVAC they installed lol, they made it all look easy. George was very friendly and patient with me while I was trying to get there (we had a lock box issue and my tenant was not home). HL Bowman provided very professional and thoughtful service throughout a difficult diagnostic and replacement HVAC install. When things did not go as planned, they responded appropriately and worked with me to plot new paths forward.I secured multiple quotes from different calibers of HVAC companies. While HLB wasn't cheap, they quoted at ~10% less than a commensurate (in terms of reputation, size, etc...) competitor. Although their price was meaningfully higher than a much less reputable and established bidder, I opted for an established company with a demonstrated track record since my family depends on reliable HVAC serviceTheir team operated efficiently, professionally, communicated well and seemed generally smart and reasonable. Some the HVAC techs and electricians really impressed me with their depth knowledge and their analytical skills, as well as their ability to communicate their findings and thinking clearly and concisely. While the whole team was great, I want to shout out to Kyle, George and James - I really appreciated the effort, problem solving skills and super effective communication!No complaints - though they only just finished the install, so we will see how things go. Assuming that things go smoothly from here, I would definitely use them again - and would recommend them to others who value using an established, reputable company for something as critical and intimate as their home HVAC needs.

Tim came to fix our air conditioning system which had suddenly stopped functioning, sending a "no signal" alert. Tim is as focused and virtuosic as a surgeon! Had a BAD blocked shower and sink drain in bathroom. They contacted me on the weekend, showed up on time Monday morning, fixed the problem quickly! Also very honest - estimated $6-700 to snake the drain but found it didn't need to be snaked so charged me much less (they could easily have just done it and charged me). Several days ago, we had a sewer leak into the basement. We detected it quickly and called Bowman plumbing. They came right out and cleaned out the sewer clog and then took a camera into the system. The piping was disinigrating and was not going to last much longer. 2 days later they sent out 3 gentlemen to dig up the out sewer line and replaced the pipes. They were on time, polite and skilled. They had to trench close to the house. When they had completed the work, the dirt was filled in, the sidewalk was swept and the yard was no worse for the wear. I would recommend this team to anyone who has sewer issues. Thank you Jordon and his team.

**Frank from HL Bowman came through for me once again. After my new shower turned out to be taller than expected, he returned to redo the pipe work so everything would line up correctly. He adjusted the plumbing cleanly and efficiently, explained what needed to change, and made sure the new setup was solid and up to code.Just like before, his workmanship was excellent. I highly recommend Frank — he’s consistently reliable, skilled, and easy to trust.---------------------------------------------Frank S. from HL Bowman did outstanding work at my home. He assessed the issue with a leaking pipe, explained exactly what was going on, and came out the very next day to take care of it. He cut out a small section of drywall to access the vertical stack on the first‑floor wall, removed the old 4” cast iron, and transitioned everything cleanly to 3” PVC. He ran the new sewer line below the joist and above the dropped drywall, installed a 3x2” PVC wye to pick up the vent, and tied the new 3” PVC back into the existing system.The workmanship was excellent, the layout was thoughtful, and he kept the area neat throughout the job. Frank took the time to explain each step and made sure everything was done the right way. I’m very impressed with the quality of his work and highly recommend him.

What a great company! It can be a challenge to get a company to come up our way (Jim Thorpe/Summit Hill) and then when they do they can be hit or miss. Not so with HL Bowman. We had a same day service manager visit. The quote for the work was VERY reasonable and the tech was out the next morning and stayed to finish the job. They also ran into some issues with the planned work they quoted and it ended up taking longer than they thought but they did not alter the invoice. Can't say enough about how impressed we are! We will hyping them up in our area and will be using them for all our plumbing needs going forward!

The estimator that came to my house came off as disrespectful. He snapped pictures of my electrical panel, which is normal, but sent them to his friend. He was laughing at his response in front of me. The estimator self censored some of the words which I am guessing were inappropriate.I have done a load calculation and determined there is nothing wrong with my panel. All of neighbor's with mini splits have the same panel configuration I do.The estimator states he can do my panel upgrade for $6k when I know several electricians that can do it for $1k or $2k.I was told my total cost would be $22k + $6k for a panel upgrade that's not needed. $28k for mini splits in a 1306sqft house. I asked for an itemized BOM but said he can't show it to me. As the estimator was leaving, he said I could finance this of all things....Very bad experience and I don't think I could ever recommend HL Bowman.From the estimator's own words "HVAC is a failed industry." I don't know why he needed to tell me that. Very uncomfortable experience.

Very professional and prompt service. Aaron was very knowledgeable regarding repairs and issues with wells, clearly explained the issues found and the options for repair with pricing for each. The repair was made timely and all debris/packaging removed by the company, he left the area cleaner than he found it. Aaron also has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed talking with him.I did have two other techs come to the house, 1 on a Sunday and he put my mind at ease that the leak was minor and would be fine until they could have a well tech come out. The 2nd tech come during regular business hours to fix the leak but recognized that there may be issues in addition to the leak that he was not able repair due to not having parts and rather make a repair knowing there are other issues he deferred to having a tech with greater knowledge of wells, Aaron, come out to evaluate and make the repair. I very much appreciate the level of professionalism shown by all the techs and would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. I will be using them again should the need arise. Thanks Aaron for the great job and the laughs, much needed after worrying about the leak over a holiday weekend.

Scott Klahr and his assistant did an excellent job installing our new HVAC system. The project took almost two days. They were meticulous with every step, and left our home/basement very clean. Scott thoroughly reviewed the work performed and gave us step-by-step instructions regarding the operation of the new system.The need for a new HVAC replacement was a big surprise to us, but the financial hit was softened by the way we were treated and knowing that we are in good hands going forward with our service plan.Also, kudos to Chad recommending the system went decided upon.

Been a few years since last serviced furnace, as winters last (hopefully last) below freezing temps recently have us switching back to heat after days of open windows, my furnace not willing to fire up - dagnabit! We had a very positive experience with everyone involved in our heat pump installation from the initial visit through completion. We were able to schedule an appointment that was convient for us. We knew what we wanted done and had researched the average cost. Nathan measured our house and determined what size unit we needed. It ended up that the unit we had was too small. After giving us an explanation of the systems, we chose what we wanted. He didn't pressure us or try to talk us into extras, although we went with the best system. What made it even better was our ability to qualify for a senior citizen discount and a special, that made a significant difference in the price. We already had our money set aside for the project and were ready for installation.They were able to schedule us for the next day. Christian and the team were here right on time. I expected professionalism, courtesy, and care of our property, and clean up, and we weren't disappointed. The work was completed to our satisfaction by the afternoon. There were 2 things that I really appreciated. One was the quietness of their work and conversation....no banging, radios, or yelling to each other. I had gotten in from out of state and to bed at 3am. They weren't aware, but I had gotten up and moved to another room to go try to sleep. I was able to fall asleep with them going in and out and working right above me. Also Christian and his team did a great job of going over everything with me, and he was the only person who gave me an answer as to why our bedrooms don't heat and cool as well as the rest of the house.They are all above a non heated/ non cooled garage. We're thinking about putting more insulation on the garage ceiling to see if it helps. Our electric bills have been climbing and we're looking forward to a new and more efficient system hopefully lowering them.Thank you. Great job.

Our heater/air conditioning unit completely broke, and with the cold nights still here, we were honestly a little frantic! We called HL Bowman, and Justin Heist was able to come out right away. Everyone I worked with was very thorough and professional. While no one ever wants to have to replace their heating system, I am glad I chose this company. They diagnosed the problem quickly and had techs out immediately to set up my replacement. They were able to schedule me almost immediately (it was a holiday weekend) and the techs who came for the replacement were great. They even kept an eye out to make sure none of my cats tried to escape while they were working.

The work completed on the kitchen sinks and the second-floor bathroom was excellent, and everything is functioning perfectly.The only concern I have is that the drywall has not yet been fixed. The cut-open section in the ceiling looks unfinished, so I would really appreciate it if someone could come back and complete that as soon as possible.Overall, Kevin and his team did an amazing job. HL Bowman replaced my heat pump system a few months ago and I called them out most recently to replace my hose bib that had burst (before even buying my house!) from frozen pipes over a winter some time ago that I just now got around to dealing with now that I am starting a garden. Everyone from HL bowman that has come out either to give me a quote or to perform work on something has been nothing but kind and professional. They make recommendations based on what they’re seeing to help you get the results you want without being pushy and have always been honest about the work I need vs what I don’t. I love using them and I haven’t had any reason to call someone else because their work speaks for itself and they stand by their work with their warranties! Austin my technician did a great job doing the work he stated. The only issue I have is when he said the coils in my outside unit were dirty and needed cleaning, I assumed when I okayed the work, it was some kind of complex coil cleaning… not simply something my 10 year old son could have done using the garden hose. Could have saved myself $350…. Lesson learned.

Don’t recommend and will be in contact with better business bureau. First guy that came wasn’t on time with our 12pm-4pm appt didn’t show till 6pm and when he got here he came with broken equipment to even do the job but charged us $650. Next day another came he claimed we had a soft clog which we knew already and then claimed our pipes were broken and the price they gave us for clearing the soft clog and and fixing the so called broken pipe was $10,400 which is absolutely insane not to mention they gave us two other quotes of $22,000 and 32,000. We went out and dug up the pipes ourselves and there is definitely no broken pipe like they claimed talk about a company that’s money hungry and full of lies.

Spoke to HL Bowman to get a quote on a heat pump replacement for an aging heat pump already in place. Was told it would be only a few hours of work due to the existing setup. I was then was quoted a price almost double the other 5 quotes I received from competitors. One of these quotes was for the exact same equipment from the exact same manufacturer as a competitor and Bowmans quote was 10k higher.

The tech that was sent was not the tech that was originally assigned to the repair so he had to base the repair of pictures and a phone call. He was extremely helpful and polite and explained everything he was doing. He was very adamant about keeping our home clean. He was only an HVAC tech and not a plumber so he couldn't replace my kitchen faucet as planned. We felt bad for the poor communication he received internally because he was told the wrong diameter copper pipe to buy and had to run for more. Again, tech was great and did excellent work quickly. I don't like to blame waiters if the cook screws up steak and this is like that where he did everything he could to fully complete the job. Two pipes that were re-routed together in a loop left the cut off ends still attached to the side of the boiler where they were cut off rather than removing and capping them also.

We had our boiler break unfortunately this year and left with no heat. Austin Shafor was sent for diagnostic work and informed us we needed a whole new system. This was a shock but he showed and explained comprehensively why this is and used terms that non-boiler experts can understand.The very same day, they sent Nate Kudla, a sales specialist to inform us of their options. He was very informative and personable. The price was a shock but he lessened the blow with his reassurances and garuntees.The install was performed the very next day in very quick time where a whole new system was completed by Glen Keiper & Shayne Keiper. The work looks clean and professional.Overall, within my first call and completed job, the work was completed within 48 hours to a great standard.In case anyone has any price enquires, it is a lot more than Google AI says so don't believe that. We have since spoke to other mechanical specialists that say the overall price was reasonable.

Alex installed a new toilet in a second floor bathroom after a leak was detected in the ceiling of the room below it. He was polite, professional and efficient. He explained the work to be done, the features and operation of the new toilet, and cleaned up after installation. We highly recommend H.L. I called HL Bowman Friday night at 9pm in the middle of summer and was connected to a live person who scheduled a technician visit for Saturday morning. That alone was impressive! I received notice by text, and a call 5 minutes before the technician, Ryan arrived. He was friendly and professional. He found the problem right away and took a short time to fix it without added expenses. He also showed me some condensation and suggested a dehumidifier. Mixed feelings so I don’t know if I will be using them again. Great office staff and customer service and polite technician. However, I can’t help feeling ripped off. Technician quoted me 500-600 to run a new thermostat wire. He went and talked to his boss and came back with over 900 dollars to run a wire. It only cost 500 to reattach the power to my house in an emergency.

**EDIT** Since originally generating this review, we have been successfully able to get our system fully operational in time for the cold months. Though communication during the process was difficult due to the inconsistency of who we worked with, I was contacted by an escalation manager to be the point for any issues that arise. Having that single point of contact does help immensely, and the company did send out a specialized technician who was able to resolve all the issues.BLUF: While the technicians from HL Bowman were polite and respectful, our overall experience replacing our furnace and A/C was very difficult and stressful. From the date of sale, to the initial install a week later, it took approximately two months and 7 separate visits to obtain a fully functional system. I do not believe that this is a common occurrence, and I believe they are updating their processes and procedures to ensure it does not happen to anyone else again.Key Note: 24/7 Emergency Service is slightly misleading. The service is seasonal, and is mostly just weekends for any non life-threatening situation. Under most circumstances, assuming someone answers, this service should be everything it needs to be.We called Bowman after our A/C failed and decided to replace both systems, converting from electric to propane. The salesman no-showed the first appointment, and the installation team later realized they had forgotten a required part, leaving the system unfinished. From there, the situation only got worse — leaks, a blown valve, wiring mistakes, missing parts, and repeated delays.Across six separate visits, we experienced multiple late arrivals and one complete no-show, even on a day when their presence was required for the propane hookup. We lost work time, paid for a wasted propane service call, and spent weeks waiting for ordered parts and corrections.Adding to the frustration, two technicians gave conflicting explanations of what system had been installed. One said propane-only, another said dual-fuel. We later learned that we actually received a dual system, not what we were told we purchased.When colder weather arrived, the furnace performed poorly — slow to heat, unable to maintain temperature, and the house cooled rapidly when it shut off. Calling after hours for help was no better: their advertised “24/7 Emergency Service” turned out to be seasonal and only available if a technician is willing to work overtime.The individual techs were great people, but the company’s coordination, communication, and reliability have been challenging for a whileI do not think this is a common issue for people, but it did, unfortunately, happen to us. What started as a quick install turned into a couple months long slog going into freezing temperatures before the system worked correctly.

The first time they came out I had a great experience and decided to sign up for their membership. That was a mistake, since then every appointment I've made has either been rescheduled or no one even shows up. Their internal communication is so bad. If you call and ask where your technician is don't expect an answer anytime soon because they have no way of directly contacting a technician. I would avoid this company at all costs. They do not care about their customers in the slightest

They canceled my appointment the day before and it was scheduled over a month out I called and an artificial intelligence person answers the phone cant get the correct spelling of my name when I asked for a real person it transferred me and Noone answered the phone so it shifted me to a machine and asked to leave a message or wait for the next available representative in which Noone answered and then kept looping me back and forth to the machine and same message still Noone answered 🤣Also last year they put in a new computer system and weren't taking out my monthly contract fee and then all at once deducted a large amount from my bank account all at once without any notification which after seeing it I canceled my yearly contract they told me nothing just went into my bank account and took what they want. Its all wrong.

Bob Seeger, who used to be with my HVAC provider, was called by me for a problem, although I didn't know he had changed jobs. He spent 40 minutes of his own time tonight trying to diagnose the problem, and offered to contact his old employer to help describe the problem. This is so far above and beyond customer care that I am almost speechless. Very impressed with this company. Rachel, the technician who first inspected my hvac, was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. Nathan, who came to speak to me about replacement options was relatable and didn’t try to oversell me something I didn’t need. Andy and Estefano removed the old unit and installed the new unit in about 6 hours and left my home in pristine condition. They were prompt, friendly and efficient. He thoroughly explained what the issues were with both my dryer and upper oven and how H L Bowman would break out the pricing for the servicing of each separately and combined plus H L Bowman's MVP package. Ignacio also provided an estimate on the turnaround time for obtaining the necessary parts. All the Technicians that installed our equipment showed professionalism, were respectful, obviously knowledgeable but also took the time to impart more than just the basic information that as a home owner you should know. This is for the "free" appointment we had scheduled today. We were told 8AM-12PM and there was no call or show.... I completely understand that things happen and it takes longer than expected but you must let people know! I had to call in at 12 to see what happened. Then no call or show 2 hours later at 2 pm. There goes 6 hours waiting for the plumber.Meanwhile, I see another plumber next door and have them come into my home for free and give me a quote. I called again to Bowman and asked a lady if they were coming and received the same answer (it's now 2 PM) and they had no idea when they would show up. The quote is not free unless you go with them and who knows when they will show up! I wasted a whole day waiting and now I have to wait another day because I don't think you should have my business. No apology from the second lady, she just got annoyed when I asked questions to see why they mentioned the quote was free. I'm allowed to ask questions.... From your other comments, I see some people had the same problem. It looks like there just needs to be some communication. I assume you do not need the business if you do not call. If you are too busy you can tell people you cannot do it and save them some time.
