“I called HL Bowman the morning of Monday, 11/2/2026, because our septic pump had gone out. Technician arrived that day and confirmed the pump would need to be replaced. but the dosing tank would have to be emptied before that happened. The TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED that because he could not get a pump truck out until what he said would be Thursday, 11/5, that I call another company (Wind River) to see if they could come out and pump earlier than that. He was sitting with me while I talked to the company on the phone, hearing the schedule. He informed me if Wind River could show up in the AM the next day (Tuesday 11/3), then he would be able to come out that same day and complete the new pump install. He told me to call him or text him when I find out that Wind River is on the way. On Tuesday morning, 2 different technicians from HL Bowman showed up at roughly 830 am and informed me they were there to replace the pump. I informed them I had neither called nor texted the previous day's tech to let him know the dosing tank had been emptied. At that time the two new techs told me they would not be able to stay and that I would need to reschedule for another day. I immediately called the tech from day one and asked why this was not communicated. Fast forward, to later in the day Tuesday. Wind River showed up at approx. 1230. I sent the first day's tech a text message explaining to him Wind River was on their way. I did not get a response. When the Wind River tech showed up, he told me that he would not pump the tank out unless the install was going to happened immediately after. I called the HL bowman tech back, and he told me they would be unable to come out that day. He asked when I left for work, what time my wife left for work and did everything short of promising he would be out before 8am to get the install of the new pump in. I received a text the following morning (Wednesday 11/4) at around 730 letting me know someone was on the way. No one called or texted for the next 2.5 hours until the tech showed up at the house. I then get a call from that tech asking why there was no one home. I explained to him that the tech from day one told me that no one needed to be home, they would take care of everything and made it sound like it was no big deal. Since I was 45 minutes away and did not want to go ANOTHER day without water, showers, or toilets (2 kids) I made the reluctant decision to give the tech my garage code so he could access the basement for power. The SEVERE LACK of communication in EVERY SINGLE aspect of this job from start to finish was troubling. As was the willingness of the tech to seemingly tell me only what I thought I wanted to hear instead of being upfront and honest with me. I was never reached out to after to see how the job went from the tech from day one. The only other phone call I received in any of this was the tech who completed the install, and that was a quick 30 second call to tell me it was complete and I needed to pay. Needless to say, I most certainly will NOT be contracting HL Bowman again. I was not a customer; I was a $6,000 job that Bowman wanted to collect on. That's it.”
