“Poor customer service, scheduling and follow through. Contacted HL Bowman early a.m. about a plumbing issue. Water coming through kitchen ceiling from upstairs bath. I was told they would be out from 9am-4pm and that they would call 30 minutes before. At 3:59pm I received a text with the technicians picture that he was on his way. 30 seconds later I received a text from the office stating they are trying to reach me in regard to my appt. I called them and was told that the technician would not come out until they confirm with the customer. I told them about the text from the tech and that I was not contacted any other way. After 10 minutes I was told they would try to reach the tech but he might not be available. I waited until 4:30 and called again and was told he was on the way. Th tech was nice and thorough. He didn't have all of the parts needed and they would return this morning between 7:30 and 8am. At 8:45am I called the office only to find I am not on the schedule. This is frustrating. I had similar issues with my HVAC service with HL Bowman.”

“Dylan Elliot is a personable, skilled, and effective plumber. Faced with a difficult job, he didn't give up on the first (or second, or third, etc.) try, but kept at it until he was able to maneuver a drain snake into several tricky junctions, getting the snake into the right one, and in time dislodging a peach pit that had clogged our drain in a pipe behind the wall. He had to repeatedly push the pit and clog along through at least 50 feet of pipe until it hit a larger pipe and flushed away. Had he not gotten the drain cleared, it could have meant cutting into the cabinet wall and cutting out the pipe. I appreciated his efforts, his good humor, and friendly manner. If we have other plumbing issues, I'll call H.L. Bowman again, and hope we get Dylan.”

I was happy to get the detailed quote work earlier this summer from Mike—twice—as Mike went through my very complex electrical upgrade request, evaluated all the options in detail, and gave me basically an Electric 101 course while doing it. Mike had already spoken highly of Nico when I talked to him earlier in the summer, and I was not let down by his work on my place on the day of my electrical service upgrade. Nico called in advance, showed up on time, was a consummate professional at every aspect of the project—approachability, information, attention to detail, ability, cleanliness, and on and on. Over the day Nico (1) removed and replaced and rewired my current, incredibly old & poorly wired basement disconnect box, (2) upgraded my service from 60 amps to 100 amps, (3) removed and replaced my (again) incredibly old & poorly wired upstairs breaker box, and (4) grounded my breaker box through the attic and across the building (which makes sense if you were here). Everything Nico worked on was organized and thorough—my breaker box has never been as clean and well-arranged, and up to code. Nico cleaned up after everything at every point. Can't recommend him highly enough, for work ethic, intelligence, and electrical skill and efficiency.”

I asked about precautions related to Covid, and the person on the phone ensured me the tech would be masked and gloved. When the tech (Cory) called, he was understanding and cooperative regarding how to initiate the interaction. He was always masked in the house, maintained at least 6 feet, and communicated his steps and concerns throughout. Cory was super professional and very courteous to our concerns, which is much appreciated. Their pricing was fair and the work was completed in about an hour. I will call them again if I have any HVAC (or plumbing) needs. Highly recommended!!”
